The Veil

I thought I'd do a random post today to share my favourite piece of art. The first time I saw this sculpture I was awed by it. No matter how much I look at it, I cannot get over how amazing it is! The piece I'm talking about is the well-known "Veiled Vestal" (also known as "A veiled Vestal Virgin"). It was created by Raffaelle Monti (1818-1881), and is dated to 1847. Take a look at the following pictures... you'll understand why I love it!

The detail of the veil is what makes it so remarkable. It looks like an actual piece of material is draped over her... yet it's all marble. Incredible, isn't it?

A bit of silliness...

I was going through photos on my computer, and found these little works of art that I had done quite a while ago. I made them for my friend Katie, who loves these Dorothy Parker quotes, which really are pretty funny. So I found pictures that sort of matched the quotes, and made these:

Design

One of my favourite websites is C28.com ~ a site that sells Christian apparel. I have so many shirts from there; they've got some great stuff. I always love their designs... they always include a scripture verse somehow, and the graphics used reflect that verse. There's a section on their site where you can download free wallpapers for your computer background, and a few of my favourite shirt graphics are there as wallpapers. Check them out:
